Eric, thank you for your December article on singles during the holidays. I’ve been a Christian for oprox 15 years and have an intimate realtionship. God hss done many great things in my life and brought me through hot white fire. Yet, the one area hasn’t changed is that I’m still unmarried. I am 39 (look younger than my age), am living God’s vision in my life and career, have a fun personality and I’m good looking. No one understands why I’m still unmarried, not even me. Your article touched my heart as I was in a place of great pain and frustration. (Last relationship ended beginning of the year and ended bc/ he ultimately did not want to commit). My problem remains, but I was encouraged and comforted by your crisp, clear, candid and very articulate words. Thankyou. Further, when I saw your picture I was stunned to see how attractive you are and that someone else, like myself, is walking this out too. Stay the path. Praying for you and your ministry. Merry (Christmas)

Hello! I just read “From the Heart of a Single Guy.” I found it amusing and convicting at the same time. I chuckled at the line “One can earn a Ph.D. or travel the world and still feel lonely.” because I’ve actually done both of those. I love teaching at a Christian University and taking students on a missions trip to Africa this summer is in the line up. I’m also 37 and single with a desire for marriage. What got me the most though, was the 3 things you are praying for in a wife. In my own prayers for a husband I can say #1 has been invoked. Then I got to #2 followed by conviction and more conviction after #3. I can’t honestly say I’ve considered those as I implore God for a husband. Thanks for helping me to reconsider how I and why I pray for a husband in 2016.
